Almost 1 year Post-op and I get PMS from time to time!

It will be a year since I had my hysterectomy on June 15th, however, as I am nearing this time, I am noticing that my breasts are sensitive to the touch, and I am in the worst mood ever. This doesn't happen every month...to be honest I don't even remember the last time this happened. Usually I just experience hot flashes and I am sleep deprived. But this is crazy! Is this normal?

It could be that, since you kept your ovaries, maybe you are perimenopausal and some months you ovulate and some you don't. Has your dr done any blood tests to check it out.

Re: Almost 1 year Post-op and I get PMS from time to time!

Hi Tauruslady,

It could very well be that I am perimenopausal. I haven't had any blood work done as my husband was laid off 6 months ago, and we don't have insurance. I am going to call my doctor though and see if we can work out some kind of payment arrangement so I can see her.

Thanks!!
