dVH/RALH Planting Flowers 2 weeks post hysterectomy

I planted a few flowers today. Since, I was feeling pretty good today. But just noticed I was bleeding bright red. I am having some pain now too. Not sure if it's from that or one of my dog's pushed on my abdomen earlier. I haven't had bleeding this dark since the day of and day after my surgery. I've been so careful and trying not to do much. It was just so nice out today. I hope I haven't torn anything internal. I have my 2 weeks post op appointment this Wednesday.

I could never bend down/over that much at this point. I feel it too much.

I have a garden seat. My husband lifted all the heavy stuff like mulch and potting soil.

Ohhhh. I need one of those. Well hopefully it is coincidental. I heard that we get more bleeding/discharge around this time because the stitches are dissolving and coming out.

I hope that's what it is.

I've had bleeding start and stop several times and even passed a stitch. Called dr. He was not concerned so I won't be either.

Oh, okay that makes me feel better. Especially, since we are at the same point in this process. Now, I can sleep without freaking out. Thanks!

I would not recommend being outside planting flowers at 2 weeks. It is using a lot of your abdominal muscles and your body is telling you (with the bleeding) that it is too much. You should order the free hysterectomy booklet on this site and you will see, it says to stay out of the garden right now!

I wasn't stooped over...I have a garden seat I was sitting down. I must have missed that part in the booklet. Thanks for the advice!

Post op week 1-2 not allowed: vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, carrying laundry to the washer, lifting, bending, reaching, driving, bending to access oven, dishwasher or litter box, going to Walmart for bargain shopping, pushing a shopping cart, sitting for prolonged period of time (at computer), opening windows, picking tomatoes, weeding and other such nonsense, making other people's problems your own, lying around the house all day and doing nothing.

My guess with the planting, it was too much reaching or bending.

Post op Wees 3-4 not allowed: don't lift anything over 10 pounds, vacuum, mow, shovel, visit your place of employment (they'll think you are ready to be back at work).

Again, we all have different rates of getting back on track. The guide has really been a realistic guide for me. I hope it is of help to you too.
