I'm miserable...

I'm exactly one week out from dvh and feeling horrible. Yesterday ended up having to wait for my pain meds to be filled and by the time I got back in the car I immediately fell to tears from pain. I hurt so much where it feels my bladder is. I also have what I believe is a uti so my dr called in meds but, pain meds and Motrin aren't touching me today and I need to get out and get my med. How is everyone feeling a weeks out? This surgery was much much worse than I had expected and I don't feel like I will ever feel good again. :-(

I feel like going back to bed just reading your post, that sounds too hard and too painful. I'd be in tears too.

I'm on post-op day 18 and have gone nowhere except to my two-week post op doctor appt. I could if I had to, and each morning I think I will get out and go do something. But, I feel lethargic.
This week I've been able to move better, and got into bed last night in a normal way for the first time since surgery.
I too continue to be surprised at how much harder it is to bounce back than I expected.
I am so grateful for this website and knowing this is normal.

Re: I'm miserable...

The recovery period is much harder than I anticipated. I am hoping in a few weeks I won't regret having a hysterectomy. I have been trying very hard not to get discouraged and I hope you are doing the same. Be we'll!
