Depressed but I have an ovary 4wks post op

I am 4 wks post op today and it seems over the past few days I am getting depressed. I want to cry, I feel worhtless, I just feel like crap. I am hoping some one is going to tell me it is b/c my ovary is a sleep. I just want to slink off somewhere and hide.

Then I feel bad for my husband but I can't control it. Do I call my Dr. or just wait it out. What do I do?

Thank you in advance.

Depressed but I have an ovary 4wks post op

I'm sorry you are going through a really hard time. I am only two weeks out but have felt as you have described. (kept my ovaries too) I go hide in my son's (he's not here) room and cry. I spent most of last night in there while my husband was sleeping. I am tired of feeling tired from the meds I have to take. I'm tired of being dizzy from the bladder spasm meds. I'm just all over disgusted about having to stay home all of the time feeling tired. I hate getting sleepy in the afternoon and feeling like crap when I finally do wake up. I'm so ready to feel normal again.

Good luck to you and know you are not alone.

Brenda Brenda ! It is hard to be patient to feel well again.
Two weeks out is too soon to be chomping at the bit so get your mind off of it and rent some movies or hang out online.
Remember what the sisters say, you only have one chance to recover. One mistake can set you back weeks it is not worth it.

Now,Javagra, you are feeling down baby that is so normal even with ovaries intact because they can be in surgical shock and can sleep for a few weeks.
You too must be patient with your body and not lose faith in your ability to heal.
The sadness is chemical. Recognize it for what it is.
If it feels overwhelming do call your doctor for something short term to get you over the hump.
Valerian or St. John's Wort are natural anti-depressant remedies that you can buy in health food stores and even chamomille tea can be calming.
Talk therapy has also been shown to be just as effective as drug therapy if you feel you need that.
Just know that this is normal.
I kept my ovaries and went through a few wet weeks too.
They passed around week seven, I was afraid they wouldn't but they did.
I am sending prayers and big warm hugs your way.

Depressed but I have an ovary 4wks post op

Hey Java,

I'm week 4 today... Yesterday I was all crying and stuff! I had a terrible morning! I came home from the Accupuncturist and found that my water heater had died on me.. i was sooo MAD! hahaha (its funny now.. not then) I finally figured that it was 7 yrs old and I wanted a larger one anyway.. but financially it was not the right time. I flipped out. My brother said he'd come over and put it in for me.. like the last one.. so I went and got a new one.. I wasnt pleasant at the store.. but I got it done. On the way home I was trying to figure out why I was so hysterical.. and it popped into my head that this was how I PMS'd and this was my time of the month!!! It was a very large relief to remember that.. and it soon passed. I'm going to talk to my Doc about it and see if she can help me if it continues like that. I dont know if that will help you.. but my Doc also pointed out that I'm probably emotional because I am tired too. We just have to remember to be nice to ourselves.. not something I am usually best at.. but I'm trying.

Topasj, thanks for your words of encouragement. It's so hard for me to not be in full control of my life! But I will try to relax and not be so upset.
