Sex Question

Hi Sisters,
Have to giggle calling strangers "sisters" but I guess that's what we are now.
I had cancer surgery for endometrial stromal sarcoma (ESS) . ESS is an unrelenting cancer that has no remission. My uterus with cervix, overies, tubes, and some lymph nodes were removed. It was life threatening so the questions about what happens after the surgery didn't get asked. It was do this or die.
Now I can start thinking about things beyond will I live more that three months. Sex is an important part of my adult life. These are explicit questions, so if your uncomfortable with this, than please stop reading this. If you are still here, thanks, then let me ask my questions. I want to know if not having a cervex will change what the man feels. I'm not so worried about myself, but I do want to know how it is for the man. Did the cervex , which took up space, will that make the vagina "roomy"? or did the cervix hold the penis in position and thus make the act of intercourse more pleasurable for the man? These are just questions that I could not find at all addressed on the internet. I doubt if any research has been done on this. I mean it's hard to even ask the questions, but if no one asks these questions then why would researchers feel any degree of comfort bringing up the questions themselves.. Well I don't want to get off track. I do want to know what to expect before trying. Does the man notice during intercourse that there is no cervex? I want the real truth of it. It's important and I want to know.
I was also curved inside. The uterus was tipped to the side. Will the curved sensation that my man loved so much be gone?I want to know what to expect.
Thank you for your time and your honest commentary. I truly appreciate any imput you can provide.
Very truly,
Star

Sex Question

s Star

I asked my DH if he felt anything different internally and he just said I felt "smooth" with no real difference in feeling or sensation to before surgery. It may take some extra lubrication and patience the first few times - I use K-Y, other sisters swear by Astroglide. I also use RePlens regularly to help keep my vaginal tissues moist - menopause had started to dry me up and BSO made it more so.

Best wishes & s.........Wendy

Sex Question

Star,
I do not have any answers....no sex until after I see the doctor on 10-02-06.
I was wondering if you are from Minnesota? Just wondering about your nickname.....I live in Southern Minnesota.
Best of luck with your new "adventures".
I pray that all goes well with your healing.

Sex Question

I don't have my cervix anymore. I can't tell, and neither can my dh.

Sex Question

I asked DH and he said he felt no difference and it was still great. The shape of your uterus should have no impact on the shape of your vagina since the penis doesn't go any further than the cervix.

Sex Question

Here is my experience. I had TVH on Aug. 18. With him on top or me on top, everything felt the same to him, and i have no cervix either. But when we tried from behind, we got much deeper and he could feel the stitches, he said, and that caused a bit of spotting. So, back to the basics, I guess. B4 the surgery, my Mom had the same thing done in the 80's, so I asked my Dad the same thing: did it feel different? He said no, not at all

Sex Question

Mine said absolutely no difference at all. For me, the big O's are WAY better since - and not having to worry about getting pregnant is also great (not that I would have with my uterus!). Anyway, all the best of health and healing to you. Hope your first time is as great or better than you knew it!

Good Question...

I am 5 weeks post op. I was very concerned about having sex for the first time. I had a total abdominal...everythings gone...including the ovaries. To top that off...I had two uteri and also 2 cervixes. Now you can imagine that I was worried sick about whether things would feel differently...worried about myself yes...but more worried about what my husband would feel. Well the good news is that everything is wonderful. My husband says it feels the same to him...no difference at all. As far as I am concerned...sex now feels even somewhat better...almost like it's deeper or something...and tighter...although I dont think that would really be possible. In any case...rest easy...try not to let it worry you...I'm sure it will be fine and should have no impact on your sex life...

Sex Question

I am 20 weeks post op yesterday. I asked my husband if anything felt different when we started having sex again. He said it was the same. For me it is way better, I don't have the pain anymore so I want it all the time. I would guess my husband thinks this is an improvement
