TAH How long after your surgery were you on antibiotics?

When I was discharged from the hospital, my Dr asked me if I had any Cipro left and I said, yes a few days worth, so he didn't write me a new prescription. Once home I realized that I had 2 days worth. I totally forgot to ask him if I needed to keep taking them and that I needed a new prescription when I got my staples removed yesterday. I better call him. Just wondering if I need them or not?

I didn't take any when I came home?

I was only given antibiotics in my iv.

Called my Dr. He only wanted me to take the 2 days worth that I had left. I had a hernia repair along with my bikini hysterectomy. The hernia repair added 2 other incisions and 6 punctures. He just wanted me to take them a couple more days just to be sure. Thanks for the replies, makes me feel better knowing that I don't need them.

Meant to add: I have a lot of extra swelling and pain from having both procedures done together. I wanted to get them both over with and am paying for it now. I have burning, sharp pain and twinges everywhere. I'm taking it extra easy, but feeling better everyday and I'm in really good spirits.
