Had Sex 5 weeks post-op
Hi!
What were your doctor's orders about resuming intercourse post-op? It's important to wait for your doctor to give clearance to be sure you have healed well enough. If you aren't completely healed you run the very real risk, as unfortunately members can share, of tearing out stitches or infection.
If you have had intercourse without your doctor's clearance, it's important that you call and let him/her know what's happened. Your doctor can decide if you need to be seen or not. Until you've been given clearance from your doctor it's important not to engage in any sort of sexual activity.
Here's some information that's important for all early post-op Sisters:
Sex - Do I Really Have to Wait Six Weeks?
Sex - Post-Op Libido and Sexual Activities
Post-Op Sex Checkpoint
Let us know what your doctor says, okay? I hope everything checks out well and that no damage has been done.

Had Sex 5 weeks post-op
I was told 6 weeks. I will be 4 weeks post op this Wednesday. As much as I want to be intimate with my husband again, I am sure not willing to risk tearing out stitches or anything else. I have my 6 week check up on Dec 29th.
Hopefully you haven't done any damage.

Had Sex 5 weeks post-op
My Dr. told me 2-3 weeks but I guess that's beccause I had an LSH and kept my cervix? So I don't really have any stitches in my vagina. I find it odd that he told me 2-3 weeks but all these other sites say 6 weeks or more. Does it depend on the type of hyster you had?

Had Sex 5 weeks post-op
I had everything out, bladder tack and a few other repairs. I had to wait 6 weeks. The doctor asked on my six week checkup, "How was sex the first time?" I said, "I don't know. You said to wait 6 weeks." He said, "Good girl. You wouldn't believe how many people don't wait and end up needing extra repair and healing time."
Becareful and make sure to follow the doctor's directions. And enjoy it!

Many women are disappointed when they go for their followup appointments and find out they haven't healed well enough to have sex, even though they expected to get that clearance. So, it's important to wait.

I had LSH with cervix intact. I went to the Dr. for my post op (she was the surgeon) at 3 weeks and she gave me the green light. Well, we did it . I didnt have any pain during sex but a few minutes later I started cramping and having this weird stinging sensation (where uterus used to be). It scared me and Im still concerned .

Had Sex 5 weeks post-op
tomorrow is my 6 week Post Op check up (the "ok to go" date that hubby's had marked on the calendar LOL) - and we're on our second Snow day - schools closed, roads icy, etc. Don't know if I'll make it in to appt - weather not going above freezing for several days (that's a LOT here in NW OR.) I'm getting frisky but still able to wait.

Had Sex 5 weeks post-op
I had my 6 week check up today. I am a little over 5 weeks post op. My gyn told me I still had some stitches left and that I was well healed, but she would prefer I wait another week to have sex just to be sure.
