Re: pads

Mr dr told me the bleeding is pretty slight. When I went for my pre-admission appt the nurse told me to bring along aome panty liners as they will work well and the hospital only has the maternity pads available- yuck- those are like wearing a diaper....I've added panty liners to my hospital list!

Re: pads

I wore a pad for about 24 hours, but after that a panty liner was sufficient. I was on my period during surgery, so my post op bleeding could have been the last of my menstruation coming out too. Haven't seen any blood or discharge since about 48 hours after surgery!

Re: pads

I agree with SSCocoa, a pad for 1-2 days, and now pantyliners. I didn't mind the extra large pads the hospital gave me. I guess it's a personal comfort thing.

If you have a good friend or sister, you might ask if they'll give you a few pads that way you won't have to buy a box just to throw/give away.

Re: pads

I'm on week four and I've only needed thin liners. Only had to do the granny panties with pad for the one night in the hospital.

Re: pads

I've worn nothing but pantyliners since coming home from the hospital. Like you, I'm not a pad wearer, so I brought the rest of the pack home from the hospital - just in case. So far, I haven't needed anything.

Re: pads

I was told to bring pads to the hospital since theirs are the old fashion kind. So I'm like ok I'm good with that but how many?????? I packed 10. I never needed one. Only wore one as insurance on the short ride home. So far since coming home a week ago today I've only used a panty liner. I haven't had any bleeding.

Re: pads

I just had my surgery today and am only having spotting. Very minimal. And the hospital staff has provided for me some sanitary pads but really aren't necessary because just wiping occasionally has even good enough for me. I will probably only need a panty liner at best when im discharged and hopefully you will be the same! I was really worried I would bleed a lot since I've ha such horrible periods but it hasn't been the case at all! Much lighter than anticipated.
