My surgery is next week.

Why do I feel so lonely....

I am so sorry you feel lonely. This is such a difficult surgery to process and digest, and it can make one feel very isolated - especially if no one you know has had this surgery.

But, you are not alone - never on this site! We are here for you, and understand what you are going through. There are many women who have been where you are now, and we will be here for your throughout this process.

Hi SweetSoulSister, I'm new here, don't even have my surgery date scheduled yet (am meeting with doctor's partner tomorrow and my own doc next week), but I've been poring over this site for the past few days trying to get as much info as possible. It's such a supportive place! So please don't feel alone. I don't know what kind of support system you have IRL but for me, I'm going to tell my closest family & friends because I know I can count on them to be there for me. I just had a long conversation with my SIL, who had a hysterectomy a long time ago, and like I expected, she was cheerful and positive about the whole experience. Try & surround yourself with positive people. I think that'll help a great deal with recovery. And if it's tough to find positive folks IRL, then come here. I love this site.

Awwwww, I know that feeling. It can get very overwhelming time, isn't it? you may be surrounded by family, spouse, kids, friends, but it can still be a lonely place to be because YOU are the one going through it. No one else really gets its. Try to keep busy this weekend. Treat yourself to a little something. We're all here if you want to chat or vent. Lisa xxx

I've just been told today I have to have one! Been 2 months since going to GP first with post menopausal bleed!
Such a worry, all the waiting for results, hospital appts etc!
On a fast track for surgery now!
