kegels? feeling like i stretched legs too hard in a lotus pose

hope this is not too bizarre, but here goes...

i'm 3 weeks post-op. for a few days now, i have been feeling a strange achiness that seems muscular in nature and affects the upper/inner leg, as if i sat too long in a lotus pose, or stretched too far in a wide-legged straddle. SO achy! if i felt like this pre-op, i'd rub the area hard to get the circulation going, and try doing kegels to relieve the aches...but now i don't know what to think or do.

could this be related to typical vaginal cuff healing? should i be concerned it's a sign of overdoing? would kegels help, and how soon should i begin them? (forgot to ask my doc about that one, duh!) gently massaging my upper/inner thigh and ligaments (right where my leg meets my body) offers a bit of relief, but does that create pulling on my internal healing where vagina was sewn to ligaments?

warning: crazy idea follows -- no doubt, my imagination is WAY too active -- and busy imagining my newly-remodelled parts are steadily shrinking, shortening and stretching taut, and it's all going to snap one of these days and fly inside-out from me!! YIKES! -- better not happen!!

Re: kegels? feeling like i stretched legs too hard in a lotus pose

Hey I know what you mean-been getting achy in weird places myself and I also have a vaginal cuff. I really think it has more to do with the inactivity-like I've been getting a painful twinge in my upper left hip when I walk-but hey-I'm spending a lot of time on the couch....leaning on my left hip and my quads get twitchy the days I feel too tired for a good walk-and even a walk doesn't help much since I'm a bike rider.

You ride horses right? Any chance those achy inner thighs are due to not getting the exercise they want?

I forgot to ask my doc about Kegels too but have cautiously started doing a very basic set (quick squeeze then release-no holding) twice a day and it feels good.

Re: kegels? feeling like i stretched legs too hard in a lotus pose

thanks for the input, onthefence! haha, i never would have thought about this from the angle of "inactivity" but you're right -- i've gone from activity-all-day to virtually nothing, except for putzing around the house with little stuff. can muscles get sore from doing nothing?! i will say this is how i might be feeling if i rode my horse after weeks of NOT riding...like i've been over-stretched and gotten sore!

i don't have another post-op until my 6-week milestone, so i still want to figure out when to start kegels and stretching. i'm guessing it's a little early yet, but who knows.

best to you with your own healing!! as a cyclist, this must be LONG rest for you to endure...when will you be able to get back in the (bike) saddle again?
