pre-op depression?
Does anyone get this, ever since I found out when I have to have the TAH-BO I have just been not feeling very up!
Trying to do things that make me happy, but still feel like I could cry at a drop of a hat!

You're not alone!
Hi Marsha~
Just wanted to let you know you are not alone. I have been on an emotional roller coaster too. Today was my last day at school with my kids. It is time for Christtmas break! Normally I am thrilled to have this time off...but saying good-bye to my kids and co-workers was so tough today! I cried...
Some days are better then others. I am trying to focus on the positive but it is hard at times. Hang in there & know that you are not alone. I will be thinking about you.
Take Care & Happy Holidays!

Preop emotions
Marsha and autumn,
I am exactly two weeks post op today. I know exactly where you are coming from!!! I did the same thing before surgery! It's normal
This is a big surgery to face not to mention the fact that you're already feeling crummy. I said and did things that were totally out of character for me before surgery. The sisters said that was normal. They actuallly helped me get out of a situation where I had opened my big mouth and made a fool of myself. I set the date of my surgery 2 months ahead. Had lots of time to think about things! You girls will be ok, just understand that this is normal and give yourself a break. Be good to yourself! Continue to visit hystersisters!!!
Merry Christmas!

pre-op depression?
{{{{[Marsha and Autumn}}}}} Pre-op is very emotional. I cried at the drop of a hat. I was worried about the "what ifs" and couldn't concentrate on anything. Think most women go through this stage. Hang in there...it'll be over soon and you'll be totally focused on recovery.
We'll be with you every step of the way.

pre-op depression?
Yep, I agree...it's such an emotional roller-coaster! I was wound up tighter than a top...and I only wish I could have cried as often as I should have. It would have helped relieve the tension and anxiety!
I think it's a normal part of this whole experience...and if you can cry to get it out...than go for it. Waiting is the worst part...but we're all here to help. Hang in there.

pre-op depression?
Thank you ladies for your wonderful posts! It makes me feel so much better knowing that this is "normal". I can't take much more of this waiting stuff...jeepers it is rough!
I have a question...
I am having a LAVH...what kind of trauma can I expect in the vaginal area? Is it going to be like after one gives birth? A swollen & bloody mess?
Thanks again for all your kind words! It truly helps!

pre-op depression
Glad to hear this is "normal" behavior. I am in my third week of Lupron, setting my TAH date on 01/09/02. I know I am behaving badly, but cannot help myself. My DH made me call and apologize to my mother this morning for my unacceptable behavior. Lucky for me, my family understands that the rollercoaster I seem to be on will stop soon and let me off.
Best wishes for you!!!

good, i'm normal too
i'm so glad to hear this is all normal. i'm on my 2nd month of lupron and so emotional that i'm surprised anyone is still talking to me. i've found that i cry when i hear a sad song, choke back the tears when i hear an emotional story. sometimes it's as if i have no control at all over my emotions. lol- probably not a good time to watch old yeller or love story. but i found it helps me to always keep upbeat music on the radio. can't wait til i return to normal though. and hope you all have a happy holiday. eva

pre-op depression?
Clover:
I supsect the Lupron is adding to your "emotional state" as well
as I believe it causes you to start going into a "menopause or pre-menpause state" and is therefore affecting your hormones in a major way. This added to the anxiety of waiting for surgery causes a lot of crazy emotions. Hang in there!
I don't know if you are having your ovaries removed or not -- but once you have surgery and once the doctor gets your hormone levels adjusted, you will feel like a totally different person. I know I did (and I was a basket case like you prior to surgery).
Best of luck.
