TAH My 6 week check up was great!!

Hi ladies,

I had an Abdominal Hysterectomy on Aug 1st. Today I finally got clear to do everything from my doctor. I am so happy because I can start working, I can walk my dog, go to the gym, go hiking with my family etc. I feel so much better still have a little bit swelly belly, I am not 100% but I am going to get there.

Good news! Just remember to resume activities gradually - you haven't had use of your abs for 6 weeks. Going from 0-60 can still have after effects....ask me how I know !

Good for you! It's amazing what doctors can do these day! I had mine laparoscopically and aside from the gas pains in my shoulders, my recovery went well. I still get tired, I don't know if that's because I'm a PE teacher of 800+ students or some leftover surgery stuff! Start slowly with exercise, I did some ab stuff at 8 weeks, and they were sore, more so than before surgery! Best of luck!
