Surgery yesterday - home now

I had LAVH yesterday. I don't remember much of anything after the lovely anistheologist calmed me down and put me to sleep. I have never had surgery before and never been put under so I was really scared. Burst into tears in the operating room and he was so nice. Calmed me down and I am pretty sure he slipped me something lol.

I didn't get to meet with my surgeon today and he had not yet dicated his or notes so I am waiting to see if they ended up taking one or both ovaries. I distinctly remember asking the OR nurse if they did take the other one and she said yes....but then the doctor on rounds this morning said that it looked like it had been crossed off on the OR notes.

I had a bit of a rough night. My catheter didnt drain so I had 550 cc's of urine backed up. Worst pain ever until she drained it. OMG I sobbed so hard. Other than that I have discovered morphine makes me itchy, I can let out some doozy farts and it wasn't as bad as I had built up everything in my mind.

I am at home now. In bed and sleepy so I am going to sign off, get some sleep but I wanted to say thank you for the support leading up to today.

I'm glad that you are home. Now you get to rest, relax and pamper the princess!

I had my surgery yesterday and was relieved to have my cervix intact. I was home by 3:15, which was a surprise. I have been taking Percocet every four hours, which has been helpful, but doesn't let me sleep. I hope tonight is a better night for you, now that you are home...

Take care of yourself and remember, do not do any lifting and rest. Glad to hear you came thru okay.

thank you - it is hard for me to allow myself to rest...helps me to be reminded of the importance of it!
