5 week check-up
Hi ladies!
I just got back from my 5 week check, and wanted to let you know how things went, and what the Dr. said.
I had TAH, and he did an internal exam to check the stitches of the cuff. It is all healed, and I am cleared for all normal activity, as long as it doesnt hurt. The exam itself did not hurt, just a little discomfort. I feel a little achy there now, but nothing I cant tolerate. No granulation.
I do have a UTI, so am on antibiotics for that. I have had more pelvic pain lately, and feel very tired and achy, and that is probably why.
As for work release. I told him I wanted to go back half days for the first week back, March 27, and then wanted to play it by ear to see how I felt for the week after that. He wrote me a release to work half days for both weeks, but told me I can go back full time earlier if I want. Since I have two weeks of half days given by the Dr. I think I will go ahead and take it. I will certainly follow the Sister's advice to go back easy as possible!
I also got a copy of the pathology report. I know about the fibroids, but found I also had cysts on the left overy and tube. Funny, most of my overy pain was on the right side.
Glad to have that little visit over!
Happy Healing!

5 week check-up
Congrats on the good report! I just talked to my Dr. today, and he extended my healing time from 4 to 6 weeks, which I am happy about. I think I may have a UTI as well, they found blood in my urine, anyhow, glad to see things are good for you, and take it easy when you go back.
I too had pain on my right ovary, and the tumor was on my left... -go figure huh?
Take care,
Twizz

5 week check-up
I dont know if I have a cuff or not. I had the LAVH and I do have stitches. I asked Dr. about them, as I didnt see nothing come out, so I felt inside and they're still there, and the Dr.'s comment, they will stay there, some come out, but yours are to stay. I dont know, I thought stitches came out. I am just too confused. Time for a second opionion.

eycqueen: I had TAH so am not sure if you would still have your cervix with a LAVH. I would think you do, but Im sure someone else here would know for sure. If you dont have a cervix, then you have a cuff.
Stitches dissolve, at least the ones I have ever heard of, unless they are the type that need to be removed. I wouldnt think he would just leave them there. I agree with you- that doesnt sound right. Mine are almost completely dissolved. Maybe thats what he meant, that yours stay there until they dissovle, that you wont need any removed. (?)

Same day!!!
I had my 5 week check up yesterday too! Had an internal exam, but it really didn't hurt just a little pressure. Dr. said that I am healed very well, and can start intercourse when I feel ready. He suggested that I wait to return to work until the 27th. I have a 20 lb lifting restriction. I did find out that I had adenomyosis as well as the fibroids, and thanks to you ladies I knew to ask for a copy of my surgery and pathology reports. Thanks to you all!!!! I am feeling good, just get tired easy..... still resting alot and being careful.
