Back-Ache anyone....1st day back full time

Hi all, I hope everyone is doing well. Today was my first day released full time back to work and I'm actually surprised how good I feel. Tomorrow will be exactly 3 weeks from my surgery. I have a tiny bit of soreness this evening, but the worst thing is the back ache. I don't know if I'm overcompensating and stressing my back out...or maybe it's just being vertical, up, and around for a whole day the first time in 3 weeks. I did have a lot of discharge today...but no pinker than normal and I'm guessing that that is just the "gravity" effect of being up all day (sorry, TMI). It's great to be back at work and busy....(my 5th graders come back next Monday) but this back pain is the pitts. I (and my blessed co-workers) have made sure that I am following Dr's orders exactly - no pushing/pulling/lifting and I am able to sit, stand, walk as needed.

Is anyone, or has anyone else had problems with back pain after getting back to the normal routine? It may just be another step in healing....but it bites...and I'm hoping and praying that it goes away. I normally have an amazing tolerance and ability to dismiss pain....there are only 2 things that get to me easy - headaches and backaches (doesn't it figure). Any advice, or suggestions are gratefully accepted.

Blessings
A tired, achy Tank

Back-Ache anyone....1st day back full time

I hope each day gets better for you. I also work in the school system, I am a bookkeeper at a high school. After being off for six weeks, I am swamped. Everyone wants something. And I am already behind. I feel great from surgery, but my first five days back to work has wiped me out.

Here's to tomorrow!

Back-Ache anyone....1st day back full time

I haven't had the nerve to go back to work. However I did stop by today for a teachers meeting, but Im gonna wait one more week. My back and energy level is kinda up but not enough to take on 20 4 year olds.

Hi Tank -

Wow! You're doing great - back to work at 3 weeks! But, just remember that all types of hysterectomies require a good long recuperation. Please try not to overdo.

I didn't start back to work until 6 weeks and then I was able to go part time for the first two weeks. But I remember a lot of back aches during my recovery at home as I began to move around more. I think our backs just work harder to overcompensate for those weak abdominals. Isn't the human body amazing?

Wishing you all the best as you start your school year and continue your recovery. Remember to pamper yourself as much as possible!

Tank: Glad to hear that you are up and back at work. Sorry to hear, though, that you are having back pain. Hope tomorrow is just as great as today.
