8 weeks post op I think I'm going to live

The first 4 weeks were the most difficult. I had light bleeding though for 6 weeks and 3 days. Not that anyone is counting right? Anyway, I had my TLH with BSO due to fibroids growing in my uterus causing cramping and heavy cycles. I'm 44 and have 2 college aged children, so I was okay with letting the doctor do what he thought was best. He found lots of endometriosis so decided it was best to remove everything. Therefore, I went into menopause immediately after surgery...didn't really have hot flashes or night sweats until week 2 post op. The doctor prescribed Estradiol 2 mg and it seems to be working to keep that under control. Although I did experience side effects like numbness and tingling in my legs and burning sensation in my lower back especially week 5 after I tried to return to work. I made it for 6 hr days (receptionist) sitting isn't very good for long periods of time. I found relief going home putting an ice pack on my lower back, taking 4 ibuprofen and resting for an hour once I got home from work. Then I was able to get up and fix supper and get ready for the next day. By 6 weeks and 3 days the lower back pain was subsiding and I felt the best since surgery. The doctor said I would need another week or two to heal inside...as of yesterday, week 8...I believe I am healed inside. I'm still a little tender around the mid section but the doctor said that I probably would be for 6 months post op. So I'm looking forward to a Happy New Year! RPL
