3 weeks ago today
Hi-just to say recovery has so far been excellent, sometimes I forget to remember I must not do too much! I do listen to my body and no lifting will apply for at least another month. I felt almost on top if the world emotionally - but now have come down to earth and feel tearful and anxious. I understand it's all messed up hormonally so hoping to feel normal soon
Still spotting and tummy a little swollen.
In all it's so much better than I anticipated but will listen to all those who tell me to relax so won't drive garden or vacuum or do laundry for at least another 4 weeks. It's scary the damage we could do to ourselves without even knowing. Best of luck everyone x

Re: 3 weeks ago today
Hi Betty Boo, first couple of weeks I felt great too. Week 4 for me was a killer! Keep resting up, there is a lot of healing going on. My specialist advised me not to lift anything heavier than a cup of tea for 6 weeks.
Did you keep one or both of your ovaries? If so, your hormones should hopefully settle down soon.
All the best x

Re: 3 weeks ago today
That sounds like me- I had mine on the 3 rd so I meant to say it was the start of my 3 rd week so intact it was only 2 weeks. I had an aching body through the night I may have a fever- will see how I am and if feel out of sorts when pain killers wear off I may call the doctor.

Re: 3 weeks ago today
I'll be at 3 weeks post-op tomorrow. I haven't needed pain medication since last Friday (4 days ago). Came back to work yesterday, and left early because I was just feeling uncomfortable overall. I think I've developed a spastic bladder and I was having pain in my left ovary. Also, two of my incisions were feling tender. (I had the DaVinci surgery, so I have 5 incisions on my belly). I took some pain medication to help me sleep. My biggest issue right now is the emotional roller-coaster I'm riding. I want off. Now. My eyes are always tearing up and I look like I'm wearing a giant clown nose from all the crying. It takes all I have to pull myself together.
Today, I'm just tired and questioning myself for coming back to work so soon. :\

Re: 3 weeks ago today
I think we are programmed to do everything so its hard. I am not going to work until 7 weeks post op and I don't have incisions on the tummy.... So think about your healing on the inside and like you say our emotions are the hardest part- difficult to cover up in the workplace
I consult people and give talks - I imagine I need time before I can do this as it requires emotional strength. This is the first time on my life I have put myself first and said no to so much- it feels good! Take care x
