I'm Home!

I got home (DB's house for a few days, DSs might wear me out at home) around 10AM. Surgery was Friday at 10:30AM. The anesthesiologist (sp?) didn't think Verced and an epidural was a good choice for me.

I got a vag hyst with anterior repair. I kept my ovaries. The doc is a quick, no nonsense kind of guy. When he came to see me on Sat AM he started pulling out the packing, never mind my protests. Not painful, just scary. The cath removal was the same. The first pee, slow, but I kept reminding myself that I should do it or it would be done for me. I've passed gas, but nothing else yet. I've had colace and just started metamucil. I had a sandwich. Cross your fingers.

Ladies, I do appreciate all your good thoughts and prayers. For those who are waiting, I can tell you it's OK. Not painless, but not TOO bad.

Talk to you soon.

I'm Home!

Welcome to post op Not-2-Brave

So good to hear you are home and off to a good start on your recovery. I hope it all goes smoothly for you. I used the colace for a couple of months to try to keep everything soft. Your added repair is something you want to guard and try not to have to strain when your bowels get going.
Drinking your water and getting up and walking around will help you with all that too. Don't push yourself but moving around without exhausting yourself is wise.
Keep us posted and let us know if we can help.
's, Rita

I'm Home!

Welcome Home! Just remember to take it easy. Things do get better. I'm having a bit of a set back. Pains like I had pre-op but will talk to Dr about tomorrow. Thought I was doing really good until last Friday morning. Was even pretty much off Motrin. Now back to Vicodin.

Went and bought Spanx like panties today. Felt so good on, I had cashier cut off tags and went and changed into them. They certainly are an improvement.

Hope your recovery goes well.
