daVinci vs TAH

When I was first diagnosed, my gyn offered to refer me to a gyn/onc. My husband and I first said no. I went home and thought about it all weekend and decided I would like a second opinion.

After the second opinion, I decided I wanted a third and found the doctor I wanted to see as the third opinion and asked my gyn to get me a referral.

Any doctor who is worth his/her salt will either offer to send you for a second opinion or will not be offended at being asked for a second opinion. Believe me, if it were them or one of their family, they'd be seeking many different opinions.

So... I guess my answer is tell your doctor you'd like a second opinion. Have the name of the doctor you want to see ready and let your doctor's office make the appointment for you. If they resist helping you .. well, I think I'd be looking for a different doctor. A physician who is threatened by the idea of a second opinion isn't one I'd want working on me. JMO.

daVinci is the way to go...I can not tell you how happy I was when I found out about it and when I found a doctor to perform it!!! I was out of the hospital 23 hours after my surgery...back to work (I'm a Real Estate appraiser) inspecting houses 6 days after..waddleing, but back to work...I feel like the poster child for the daVinci robot!!! Why get cut open, when you have this option...

YES..tell your doctor your getting a second/third opinion and remember...as my daVinci doctor told me...healthcare IS a business..of course your 1st doctor wants your "business"...it is up to you to choose the right kind of "heathcare" no matter what the cost...
