Eeeek sugery next wed, 5 days

Next wed is my surgery, hyster and ovaries for cancer, full open. I had my thyroid removed for cancer and was panicking when I woke up from surgery, I am fearful of everything about this, the procedure, cancer, recovery. I have severe anxiety disorder and have been hosptialized for that in the past. anti depressnts are helping from keeping it to be full blown.
We are talking about heavy sedation and a spinal. That way waking up may not be as bad as waking from anasthiea. Faith

I had a full blown panic attack the last time I had abdominal surgery. My doc put me on Cymbalta for depression and anxiety. You might check with your doc if it might help you.

I also had undiagnosed sleep apnea at the time and the panic was because I felt like I couldn't breathe. We (the doc & I) think it may have been an apnea episode that woke me up and put me in the panic. I now have a CPAP machine I will be taking to the hospital with me.

hope ur wake up is alot better than in the past.
it does make it harder with anxiety cause of the stress that goes with it.
