Depressed at week 3

Three weeks today since the surgery... I live along and I'm so depressed I can't stand it. I've been crying for 3 days and don't even want to get out of bed!

Hang in there, but give the doctor a call too, please. It may be hormones that are affecting you so.

Please talk to your doctor. I had a family member go through it and she didn't tell anyone. Unfortunately she made some choices that has affected my family in a permanent way. Please get help. You are worth it!

right there with you w the tears and crying. you are not alone and as women we never ask for help but need to. maybe a little pharmacological help to get through the first 6 months. Please get up and out. Depression treated early is manageable. Hang in there.

I would call your doctor and let them know what is happening. Do you have any family you can call and talk to? It just sounds like you are totally overwhelmed and need some help. Please get help now. You are worth it.

So sorry that you are having such a difficult time of things. I think calling your doctor would help if its something you need in the way of hormones. I know at about three weeks I was feeling pretty low but by about six weeks I began to feel a whole lot better as my body healed. Give yourself time and rest, you have been through a whole lot and you should give yourself a big hug

Week three was like that for me, too. I was depressed and crying, having hot flashes, just felt overall miserable. I live alone, too, and it SUCKS when you've just had major surgery and are too weak to do things for yourself. I hear you.

For me, the first week after surgery and week three were the worst. It started getting better with week four and by week six, I was feeling really good again. It WILL get better.

In the meantime, can you call someone - a family member, a friend? Sometimes just having someone sit beside you and watch TV helps.
