Hello,I just read your post about your hairloss,Hang in there with the biotin,it WORKS,I too experienced lots of hair shedding post op 10/2/12 and I've noticed a great improvement.caraserm81

As a hairstylist for over 20 yrs. I can tell you the worse thing ( other than chemo) to cause hair loss is anesthesia. It really does cause hairloss. Other things that may or may not contribute are hormones and thyroid. People with policystic ovarian disease usually have very thin fragile hair. There is a product you can buy in salons ( and find it pretty cheap online) called nioxen. They sell starter kits with everything you need. You just need the core products__shampoo, cond. and treatment to help with hairloss. Biotin also helps , but check with your dr. before taking it. Keep me posted on how you are doing....

Biotin REALLY works,I was told I did'nt have to stop taking it prior to my TAH,its water soluable and has NO SIDE EFFECTS,its HARMLESS.!!! Caraserm81

I have been having the same problem. I called my hair dresser friend and she said it start about 6 weeks post op. She told me to drink lots of water with lemon or lime, and watermelon juice to get the anesthesia out of my system. I figured it couldn't hurt.
