Ovaries gone kaput on me?

Hey Ladies! I haven't been around in awhile, but am having some hot flashes, and such that are normally associated with menopause and thought I would check in really quick to see if I'm correct or if it might be something else. I had my hyster in March 2005 and everything has been great up until just recently when I have started getting the hot flashes from hell! That seems to be my only real symptom at this point and since they come and go, I know it's not a fever or anything and when they hit, I generally sweat like crazy. Anyone else go through this?? What did you do to help keep your cool??

It sounds like you are going through menopause. How old are you?

It is my understanding that if you keep your ovaries that you can go through menopause even if you have had a hysterectomy.

Am I right ladies?

I would talk to my OB/GYN about it. Depending on your situation & feelings there are meds you can take for it. If you can't use hormones ask about more natural alternatives.

I'm 35 and thinking I need to call the Doc as well, just thought I would check here first. I hadn't been able to take bc pills before my hyst as they would make me all wacky and moody so think something more natural would be best. But will check with my Doc. Any other suggestions you ladies have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Zanne!
