Sharp Pains in the Urethra

I have been having sharp shooting pains in my urethra while at rest. I am almost 4 weeks post-op from LAVH/BSO. Nothing surgical was done for the bladder.

Has anyone else felt these strange pains? Could it be tiny crystals from the calcium supplements I'm taking? Thanks for any input.

Sharp Pains in the Urethra

I had a LAVH also, same date as you. My Dr. told me he was putting stints on my urethra for marker reasons. Not sure exactly why though. I didn't have any pain from that.

Did your Dr. put stints on too? You should call your Dr. and find out.

I had terrible kidney pain a couple of days after surgery, more than likely a kidney stone (I've had them once before). I have crystals in my urine also. Maybe they can take a urine sample and see if that's what's happening to you and maybe it could possibly be from the supplements?

I would definitely call and ask. I hope you feel better soon!! Good Luck to you!!!!

Sharp Pains in the Urethra

I wasn't told anything about stints. She just told me my bladder was fine during the surgery -- no plans had been made to do a suspension, etc. In the surgical report the only mention of the bladder was that it was drained....then after other procedures of clamping, incisions, etc.,it says the bladder was dissected off the cervix....later...bladder was further advanced. That's it for the bladder. I'll mention to her about the pains on next check up. My urine has turned cloudy now. It had been so clear. Always something.
Thanks for the reply. Hope you continue to heal wonderfully.

Sharp Pains in the Urethra

Well hopefully those pains go away soon!

My post op is next week and hopefully nothing new pops up (for both of us)!

Best of luck to you!
