Day 6, passed out/dizzy/nausea episodes?

I may have done something wrong last night, I twisted to the side to catch my pillow and felt a pull. Later around 2am, I went to potty and about passed out and became very nauseated. Went to get back in bed and felt for a moment that I did black out because of how I was lying in the bed? I did have to change my patch yesterday as the one they put on me post op was peeling off and the nurse I called told me to go ahead and change it, so I thought it could be from that also? This am around 6 am I felt the same dizzy/ pass out feelings as I got up to get kids up for school. My dh is out of town, so I'm keeping my oldest out of school with me just in case. Anyone else experience this? I was really feeling great up until this started. I also feel a tugging sensation on left side? I have a stupid ? but are we sewn up or stapled from the inside?

Re: Day 6, passed out/dizzy/nausea episodes?

I had dizzy spells and passed out twice after my surgery. Once in the hospital and once at home around week two. I believe mine was from being anemic and have been taking iron since. I would mention it to your dr to be on the safe side. Mine was concerned that it happened.

As for your question, which is not stupid at all, we are sewn up inside. You have stitches that will dissolve over time.

Call your doctor. You shouldn't be passing out or blacking out. Besides the danger of hurting yourself if you should fall when you faint, there could be an underlying reason for this. You are only a few days post op. Pleasecall your doctor.

Re: Day 6, passed out/dizzy/nausea episodes?

Well i'm TAH 19days post op, and recently started getting lightheaded, and dizzy. It started Sunday, thought maybe it was because I got up to fast but now it's doing it when I'm walking down the hall or just standing there. Hope you can figure out what's going on with you. Best of luck!

I agree, call your Dr. Anemia, low blood pressure, those are just a few possibillities, but it's not normal and needs to be checked out. Let us know what you find out.

Re: Day 6, passed out/dizzy/nausea episodes?

Thank you all, I am anemic and did have significant blood loss during my surgery, but I do take my iron on a regular basis. I put a call in to the doctor and they are seeing me this afternoon, she was concerned about the passing out. I am fine other than when I get up and try to walk around. Did manage a quick shower but sat down, thank goodness we still have the shower chair left over from my teenagers recent broken leg! I am thankful for this website, it has been a relief knowing there are others and we all have dealt with and are dealing with this together Many Blessings to you all!
