Sling not tight enough?

I had my monarch sling & TVH done on 7/3. I was immediately able to urinate when the catheter was removed the following morning. I do not notice any difference when I urinate (e.g. still can't stop the flow mid stream) and I've read so much about having to retrain our bladders after the surgery that I'm wondering if my sling wasn't tightened enough? Did anyone have a successful sling operation and didn't have any urination problems after surgery? Maybe I was just super lucky???

Sling not tight enough?

Hi Sandra

I had a sling done along with my TVH too. I didn't have any problems afterward, like some of the ladies have. Right at first it was a little slow getting the flow to start, but nothing big.
I've been so happy with the results. I can sneeze and cough and jump with no problems and it had been years since I could do that without bracing myself first.
It sounds to me like you are just one of the lucky ones. I hope time will prove it to be as good a result as mine.

Sling not tight enough?

I'm one that has had ongoing problems, but wanted to tell you that when I cough, sneeze etc. I don't leak. It almost seems from what I'm learning is that mine might be to tight which is constricting the flow. We'll see, but I do remember the first time I sneezed crossing my legs and then realizing I didn't leak.

Sling not tight enough?

I had a TVT along with TVH and have been so thankful. After my cath was removed I was able to go right away and have had no problems since. Before I could not stop the flow and now I can and no leakage. It is wonderful. Hope all keeps going well!
