Surgery date coming up soon

K, I'm not gonna lie, when I seen the topic "Best wishes to all April 1st princesses" I got a little freaked out just knowing that my surgery date is coming up really quick!!

I think we need a April 7th (or any surgery around that date) support group. I'm pretty sure I'm getting nervous.

I'm thinking this week is going to be nerve racking.

We can do this, right?!?!

Re: Surgery on April 7th (or near that date)

Hi LVAN!

Hystersisters.com does not have Date Clubs for pre-op members. You can read more about it on the Sticky Post at the top of this forum, or by clicking on the link here:

About Pre-Op "Date Clubs"

The site does feature Recovery Threads for post-op members on the Post-Op Message Board, where you will be able to share with those who had their surgery the sme week as you.

I am sending many positive thoughts your way for a successful surgery and uneventful recovery.

LVAN

I am scheduled for april 9, I am getting freaked out too. It is going to come quick now because I have so much to do. I go the 2nd for my preop and then just getting last minute stuff done at home and at work. It is going to be very stressful. Sometimes I have to stop and say BREATHE. I am right in there with you, don't feel alone, I am totally scared. I know I am doing the right thing. I am just really scared about the recovery and how I will do with the pain and just simply things like getting out of bed the first time. Or how long will I have the catheter in for. So many things we don't know the answer to.

You will be fine. We can do this. I will be thinking of you on the 7th. Take care.

Re: Surgery date coming up soon

Hi zanne,

I'm kind of freaked out about the catheter also, I really hate those things and it sounds like alot of girls have had to have them in for some time.

I just keep telling myself, NO MORE PERIODS!!!

Best wishes to you, and I'll be thinking of you on April 9th.

Yes, we can do this

Re: Surgery date coming up soon

My surgery is also coming up on April 7...I just found this website...how cool! I want to make it as easy as possible so I'm looking at the band and support binder. I plan to buy a few things this weekend...bedtray and tray with wheels. Hope all goes well for you too and hang in there!

Re: Surgery date coming up soon

It is very normal to be freaked out before surgery! Things will probably move a little quicker for you or seem that way anyway. You will busy yourselves with things to prepare for sugery and time will fly by.

Everyone is different as it comes to the cathater. Mine was in for a little over 24 hours.

Good luck on your jouney and may it be a smooth one!

Lvan, Brownhair and I will be right there along with you on the 7th. You're not alone. I'm nervous as anything myself. Almost lost it yesterday with the ingrown toenail thing. All I can say is TGFA (Thank God for Ativan). Now all I have to do is talk my gyn into giving me some at my preop this Thursday to help get me through the remaining few days.

I can't say that I understand what my sisters suffering from flood-like bleeding, cripling pain, and other such issues feel like. When my "stuff" works (I'm going through menopause) it works properly however, said "stuff" recently decided to move south and is attempting to "leave the building" (a/k/a pelvic prolapse). But my heart goes out to you and I do know that together we can get through this. We have to.

LVAN, here's a happy note. Now instead of twins, you, Brownhair and I can be TRIPLET Princesses!

Brownhair,
I've only got a couple small things to pick up,a donut pillow for my tushie and some sort of small soft pillow to put between me and the seatbelt for the ride home. Other than that, most of what I have left to do is housecleaning. If I'd started that to early DH and DS would have found a way to mess it up.

Re: Surgery date coming up soon

sweet princess, LOL triplets!! I love it, the more the marrier. I makes me feel better that I have a group of "sisters' all going through the same thing on the same day.

We'll be recovering on the "other side" together, that's what I'm really excited about. Let's get this thing over with!!
