Re: Changing the subject...what are you looking forward to?

My date is the 23 rd sept too looking forward to not feeling like my organs are
Going to fall out, to sex not hurting, to seeing my sister when she visits to help with the kids and support me when I'm in hospital. And maybe to reading my novel, doing some crocheting and watching a few movies while I'm recovering. And NO MORE PERIODS

Great subject! I'm looking forward to:
Lots of rest and sleep and not feeling guity about laying in bed for so long, time off work, no more heavy periods, and last but not least.....not feeling the pressure and uncomfort of this huge mass (fibroid) inside of me ever again!

Re: Upcoming hysterectomy...what are you looking forward to?

Honestly, I liked the idea of taking time off of a very demanding job. I liked the idea of flying out to my cousins' house and spending time with them (my cousin's wife was one of my surgeons, and I recouped in their house), and then seeing my mom afterwards.

And I couldn't wait to never have to deal with a period or a pap smear EVER AGAIN IN MY LIFE.

Re: Upcoming hysterectomy...what are you looking forward to?

Oh my gosh, so many things! First, no periods!!! Not planning my life or wardrobe around my periods, getting rest without feeling guilty, NO VACUUMING, getting my incomplete knitting projects done (and starting new ones), reading lots....I could go on! My surgery is this week, and I'm feeling more curious and hopeful then anything else......although I don't feel like I have a lot of discomfort, could it be that I'm just so used to feeling like this that I don't even recognize that I am in pain? I'm curious and can't wait to find out....onwards and upwards!!

What a wonderful thread!! Kudos!

I'm looking forward to having the first opportunity after graduating college to read a book for pleasure! And falling asleep with a book in-hand is okay!

Re: Upcoming hysterectomy...what are you looking forward to?

My date is 9/26/14. I am so looking forward to getting this over as I've had the grade 1 endometrial cancer diagnosis for a month and have had huge anxiety! I look forward to being back at home when it is over!

Re: Upcoming hysterectomy...what are you looking forward to?

I love this thread! I'm looking forward to getting back to exercise and dieting. I weighed 284 in December 2013 and lost 40lbs by June 2014. Then the bleeding and pain hit me like s rock. I had to take medical leave from work. So I'm mostly looking forward to being my happy self again. To not bleeding every day and to feel no more pain from my adenomyosis.
