libido's gone/bladder pain's back!

I had a LAVH in December, and for several weeks afterward, had high libido (during the time sex was forbidden!). Then for the next month or so, everything was great. I was so glad to be NOT BLEEDING anymore and having no bladder pain (which I had a LOT of pre-hyst). Unfortunately, about a month ago, my libido disappeared and my bladder began to hurt again, finally ending up in a bladder infection. I am so disappointed. I guess I need to go see my gyn again. Perhaps I need to ask for increased estrogen? Right now, I'm using the Vivelle Dot .1 mg. and Premarin cream 2g. twice a week. Using the cream more often seems to help some. I still have my ovaries, so I don't see why this is happening! Thanks for any ideas (or sympathy!).

It's not uncommon for libido to surge and then decline during the early postop months....and certainly bladder issues can compromise libido.

If you are feeling balanced otherwise on Vivelle...ie. no hotflashes, night sweats, etc. it may be that your body just needs a bit more time to heal. In addition, since you do have your ovaries, it may be that they have not completely resumed functioning yet. Try to be patient and see how you do over the next few months. If your low libido symptoms do continue, you might want to do some research on adding testosterone replacement and discuss that with your doctor.
