Back to work at 6 wks

I went to the dr today for my 6 wks post op. Actually tomorrow will be 6 wks. I tried to talk her into 2 more weeks because I don't want to go back to all the stress. She wouldn't go for it. She said I was good to go. She did give me 1 wk of light duty. I carry mail, walk 4 hrs and drive for 2hrs. I hope the boss doesn't think I'll be 100 0/0 when I'm back. I'm just going to take my time and do what I can. The boss is very uncaring so this is going to be very stressful......I told her about the weight we lift and she said if I did it before surgery I'd be fine now. good luck to all of you and I'll check in when I can.
Thanks for all the support these last 6 weeks. Boy, did they fly by

Good Luck!! I am 4 weeks and was wondering how hard it was to get an extra week or so if needed. Obviously virtually impossible!! I am praying for you. Take it as easy as you can and please keep posting.

I'm gonig back to work at 6 weeks also, and am dreading it. I work in s small office (9 people), mostly with women. They're all very nice, but none of them has ever had major surgery. And my "main" boss, though a nice person, is not sympathetic to illness at all. I just hope they can understand how I'm not going to be at 100% for quite awhile yet, as I'm still having digestive issues and am tender yet.

I depends on your dr. My sis in law had a C-section and talked her dr into 2 more weeks. And she has a desk job!!!! why do we have to work for such uncaring bosses. I just called to tell her I'll be back on Wed and she started complaining about her having to run the office by herself, me, me ,me is all we ever hear!!! ughhhh

Thanks. I do love my job and my customers. I got alot of get well cards from them. I just don't like the boss, no one does, she's nice to your face but once you turn around there's a knife in your back. I will take care of myself and I hope my guys understand when I come home grippy....

i'm sorry, please take it extra easy and if they see you doing things a little slower than usual mabey they will step up and help a little more? but like sister of 3 said it's your life you have to deal with the consaquences(i know i didn't spell that one right)for the rest of your life!!
that sounds like alot to jump back into for me, i was told driving only short distances,no pushing pulling lifting and all that, vacuming, all those restrictions still apply for me,my recovery was minimul 3 to 4 months!!! i wish i could send you my doc's note that she wrote on a script pad,and pretend it was yours, well lots of hugs and let us know how you do!!

My supervisor who fills in is also a carrier she's going to call the Postmaster and tell her to make sure I take it easy because of the hysterecotomy. If Cheri was there she would makes sure i didn't do too much.... Lets hope the PM listens to her.
