Is estrogen hormonal therapy safe?

I recently was diagnosed with uterine cancer and had total hysterectomy. I've been hearing about the dangers of hormonal therapy and the package on the back even say not to take it if you had one of these conditions - namely uterine cancers.

So, I'm concerned about whether to take it.

If you have a gyn-onc, talk to them. My gyn-onc felt that because I was only 34 and in good health (other than that cancer thing), and had no family history of breast cancer or cardiovascular issues, the benefits outweighed the risks. Not all doctors agree on this. I admit to being nervous about HRT, and I don't think I will want to use it for too long, but my doctors both felt that the surgical menopause at my age would be really rough.

As mentioned discuss with your gyn/onc. I had endometrial cancer and my gyn/onc allows me to use vaginal estrogen (estrace) so I don't experience vaginal atrophy.
