Dry Hair 3 weeks Post Op

I am 32 years old and am 3 weeks post op from a supracervical laparoscopic hysterectomy. Thankfully, my recovery is going well, albeit VERY tired

I am trying my best to cope with all of the changes I am experiencing. but the one that is really driving me nuts is the dry hair! Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions on good, affordable products that work?

I am having the same issues. My hair is dry and not shiny either. I have tired switching conditioners and nothing. I order a sample of the Aveeno off they're website. I am willing to try anything. I use conditioner and leave-in and nothing works. Help.

Re: Dry Hair 3 weeks Post Op

I experienced that myself it took about a month and a half before I got it back semma normal. I had to us a lot of products and conditioners and shampoo for dry hair, dove works good and i leave in conditioner spray after before blow drying and then if you straighten your hair then a chi protectant for that.. its a lot of work but the dry hair was driving me crazy..lol hope this helps

Re: Dry Hair 3 weeks Post Op

My beautician just told me that the anesthesia can cause trouble with your hair. I called for a perm and she told me that she would not give me a perm until she saw my hair. I might need a treatment or two first. I went in and she did put a treatment on my hair right then, then did the perm. So, talk to your beautician, or any beautician for that fact and see what they have to say.

Re: Dry Hair 3 weeks Post Op

After my surgery I was losing hair and scared. I called my sister, who is a cosmetologist, and she reassured me that it was normal. She also warned I would have drier hair (mine is normally oily) and sure enough, it was. I am at 6 weeks and it has started to go back to normal. She said part of it is the anesthesia, but a bigger part is the change in hormonal balance that our bodies go through. Consider this: your hair is a living record of every chemical in your body for as long as it has been a part of your body. When I remember that, it makes sense that it would then reflect whatever stuff my body is going through.
