I'm having a bout of depression. Whats going on here?I never get depressed!

I'll bet is is just from this awful waiting for surgery and the "unknown". I am usually so totally organized and together. I thought I was fairly o.k. with how I was handling this waiting time, until I had my preop on Tuesday. I was o.k. during the whole thing and when I left there my legs were like rubber! I was so unprepared for those feelings of panic and I couldn't concentrate on anything I was doing the next 2 days! I had some meetings with clients and I don't know how I even got through them!

If it gets too bad please call you MD to see if there isn't something he/she can do for you to help you out. I hope you feel better soon!

Depression followed by Happiness!!!

Saw the posting and having suffered with depression thought I'd just post a hopeful ray of sunshine.
I got low leading up to surgery - apart from all the discomfort etc, loss of sex drive and heaven knows what else - I hated the being out of control feeling. Surgery date was like a brickwall across my life. Within a couple of days of surgery, once I emerged from the morphine haze, I felt heaps better. Fortunately, it's been getting better ever since. I now feel happier, healthier, more energetic and positive than I have for several years. I hope you will have the same experience. The waiting is the worst part.

All of you waiting, take care. You'll find so much support on the post op board. This site, I live in UK, has been such a help to me.
