Wow. I also had a TAH and 5 days before you! I will be going back to work on 08/21; my doctor insisted there was no way I was going back to work before six weeks. I admire your dedication, or is it necessity?

You might want to check with your doctor about the pain, otherwise it sounds like pretty normal stuff for so soon after surgery. That is just my

Bless you!! I'm 5 weeks I have little or no energy and I am NOT working!!! My dr told me 6-8weeks and wouldn't budge. I am blessed to have a good sick day plan and have worked there for 10 years so that's taken care of. It would be hard to have to stress of having to work on top of the surgery. I've had read posts from ladies who are working and doing just fine!
Just take it as easy as you can. Sit when you can, walk when you can. It takes a while to get over major surgery and get back to "normal". and some discomfort will happen.
I'm proud of you for doing what you have to do and moving on.

I stayed off work for six weeks after my TAH/panniculectomy, and honestly -- I should have stayed home for eight weeks.

I was also extremely fatigued and continued to have swelling and pain. My doc explained that it doesn't take long for the body to get "out of condition" and that the key is to ease back into activities -- don't just expect to be able to jump back in. That really helped me because of course I thought I would magically be OK one day to just start doing everything after resting for six weeks.

Hope you're feeling better soon. Your sisters understand.

Gosh...Yes it is normal.. I could not work now if I had to and I had my surgery July 14th... Still too sore to clean, so I know I could not work.
