7 weeks post-hysterectomy and feeling terrible

Pain. Not sharp, no bleeding. Pain of swollen belly feeling. I get how and why. And I feel pg. All post-op visits have checked out really good. I'm guessing this is swelling and healing.

I'm having trouble comprehending feeling okay and then feeling real bad again since Sunday. I am at work. Sit at a desk. Yesterday was tough, and I got up and moved around more than usual. Last night I had the heating pad on after a hot bath and 1000mg ibuprofen. I only did the chores I had to last evening. Homework, dinner, making lunches for the kids...that's really about it. This morning I got up and feel just as bad. I have on stretchy workout pants today. I can't even consider pants that button. I've been close to doing this, but after 3 weeks and 2 days back at work, I gave in. I'm sitting at my desk reclined as much as possible with a heating pad on my stomach.

I'm fine with being patient for the healing time. I get that. It feels like the swelly belly thing is getting the best of me.

Like I said, very healthy post-op visits. Last one was 10 days ago. I want nothing more than to just lay in bed. If I feel this bad later today, I will take a pain med and be out of work tomorrow. Even the next day if I have to. Weary!

Re: 7 weeks post-hysterectomy and feeling terrible

I was the same way at 7 weeks post op. I went back to work at 5 weeks and every evening I was on the couch with the heating pad, my feet up and taking a pain med. It takes a long time for the body to fully heal from major surgery. We may look fine on the outside, we may be released back to normal activity but our bodies are telling us to give it time and rest to finish the process. I can honestly say I felt much better at 4 months post op but did not feel fully like my old self (better than my old self really) until a full year post op.

Same here. When I feel good, I feel great. Better than before surgery. But when I feel bad I too am on couch with feet up and heating pad on. Today out of blue had some pink discharge. And I feel achy in and around vagina. Usually its just bloating and back ache. So, I'm just home from work, took dog out, changed clothes and have assumed my all too familiar position on sofa!
