TAH 1 Year Post-Hysterectomy and Rosacea?

I am one year post op and kept both ovaries. Everything seems pretty normal on that front but a few months ago I noticed small red bumps around my cheeks, nose and near my eyes/eyelids. My doctor diagnosed it as rosacea and prescribed a gel to help but I'm not seeing much of an improvement. My mom has rosacea but her cheeks are always red, nothing like what I have going on. Anyone out there experience this and have any suggestions? It seems like every time one little bump goes away, another one appears, especially around the eyes. I haven't used any new cosmetics, moisturizers or cleansers and have disinfected all of my brushes a few times. I'm starting to wonder if my doc is wrong and maybe should go see a dermatologist. Happy to hear any suggestions or similar experiences!

I've never seen a dermatologist before, but I'd sure consider it in a situation like this.
