Back from the castle

Hello everyone. I had my TVH on Wednesday morning, September 13, and the doctor said I could go home if I wanted to yesterday evening. I was thrilled. As wonderful as the nurses and hospital staff were, there is no place like home for relaxing. The surgery went well. It took a little longer than he expected because my uterus was larger than it had appeared on the ultrasound and the uterus and fibroid had to be taken out in sections. When I woke up I felt some pain and nausea but the nurses gave me anti-nausea meds and morpine in my IV and I felt much better. What a relief that it's over and each day I'm feeling better and better. Thanks to all of you on here who offered such great advice and comfort to the rest of us. It's wonderful to know there are such caring people out there.

Hi Peaches,

Thanks so much for coming here and giving us pre-opers some reassurance that it will all be ok. It's people like you who take the time to do this that really make us scared feel sooooo much better.

Here is wishing you an uneventful recovery. Take care and rest and don't over do it now. My prayers are with you.

Hugs

Thanks Nunu,
Fortunately I have help at home for a few days. My mother in law is here taking care of laundry, meals and clean up. Who could ask for more?

Hi SisterAngel,
I'm glad to be able to give others out there some encouragement. It certainly is nice to be pampered for a change. Sorry your earlier surgery date had to be canceled, but hopefully you'll have a new date soon.
Take care,
Peaches

Peaches57,

I just wanted to say I wish you a quick recovery. It's my understanding the TVH is a quicker recovery then the TAH. When I do have mine (sometime in October I'm hoping) I'll be having the TAH.

Good luck and like everyone else is saying, REST !

Wow, just two days ago! You've given me a bunch of hope that this won't be as bad as I think. I'm dr and hospital-phobic, so hearing how easy it was for others makes me really think I'll get through it too. Hopefully without passing out or throwing up on anyone (which have both happened before! )

Welcome back. I'm 6 days post-op and on the mend. Still tired, but doing well. It is great to be on the "other side' of the operation.
