Lump on incision-is it normal?

I am almost 3 weeks TAH and went for a follow up with my family Dr. today and all went well. I have a bit of a rash on my incision but other than that she said everything looked fine. She told me to keep airing it out since it is in a skin fold and it should heal and the rash should go away. When I got home tonite and was airing it I noticed a lump in the incision that is not noticeable to the eye but when you feel it there is definitely a lump the size of a grape. Should I be worried and call the Dr. or just wait and see if it goes away....it is not painful to the touch and is not bothersome in any way. Any ideas what I should do?

Re: Lump on incision-is it normal?

Any new symptoms should be shared with your doctor, just to be safe! It is possible the lump is a normal part of healing or there could be some problem going on such as infection.

Give your a call and let us know what you find out!
