I would know...wouldn't I???

If I tore out some stitches after a TVH, I would know...right?

I had my surgery on the 19th, which was just on Tuesday. I am in more pain right now then before...I did get a little zealous hugging someone (a child, I kind of lifted her without thinking) (but not far) and I'm not sure if I did something. I know that it started hurting after that, but I would be bleeding if I ripped out stitches, don't ya think?

I didn't bleed for the whole surgery which is what is kind of throwing me, I'd bleed for this...wouldn't I?

I'm kind of paranoid about it right now...I really don't want to call the on call.

Anyway...anyone know???

I'd call in the morning to see what your doc says, but mine told me it would be kind of difficult to actually rip them out. Maybe you just over did it. I know after I had mine, one day I'd be totally fine, and one day, even if it was just getting out of bed wrong, I'd be really sore. It's going to be easy to pain while your so soon in your recovery. I'm not so sure a hug, even a zealous hug would do too much damage. I would call your doc in the morning to make sure though.

Hi chrima
It's late and I hope you're resting now. So early post op you are susceptible to injury by pulling those internal stitches. You can also cause tiny tears in the tissue which might not cause bleeding, or it might not show up just yet. Hopefully you just strained yourself. See how you feel in the morning and I think it would be wise to check with your dr because of the new pain this has caused. Sometimes a little heat will help soothe those aches and pains that come from over doing or being up too long.

Try to be really careful about the lifting and bending, pulling and pulling for a while. Small tears caused by pulling and straining the healing tissue can cause adhesions and scar tissue to form. Let us know how you do and what your dr has to say.

Ahh, you added that lifting part after I commented......Lifting is a no no. I was thinking you just hugged too hard, or rocked side to side when you hugged :dance2: ...Didn't realize it was a lifting issue. Call your doctor this morning and find out what he/she says, and No More Lifting! LOL Hope you feel better.
