BM Problems--(Warning-Graphic)

How much Benefibre should I take? I find fibre causes horrendous gas and bloating but I even have trouble passing gas, so when I get too bloated I am miserable! Don't want to go overboard. Any suggestion on dosing? Can't use suppositories well--last time I tried the pain in my rectum was so bad and it still didn't work--just pain!!

I had chronic constipation before my hyst. so I dreaded hearing it would be worse after surgery. I have some Glycolax - a RX that was prescribed for me last year. It works like all the others - metimucil, benefiber, etc. BUT WITHOUT ALL THE GAS AND BLOATING. It does take a couple of days to work so I started taking it the day I came home from the hospital. Since it took a couple of days to start working I used a Ducolax suppository a couple of times and once I got the dam to break I have had no problems since. I just continue to take the Glycolax daily. FORTUNATELY, this great stuff is now sold OTC as Miralax. This has worked great for me. www.miralax.com

benefiber suggests 2 teaspoons 3 times a day... i did that and had an accident.. that is how well it worked.. so now i am using it 2 teaspoons once a day... keep in mind i am OFF my pain meds, if i was still on them chances are i would need more... i usually have really bad gas as well and this has been okay... maybe start out doing it once a day.. and go from there...
