what would you do.

I'm going in for a tah and bso due to endometriosis.

When I saw my doctor and we discussed my surgery my bladder was having a leakage problem.

I have had similar problems in the past before my previous laps. But, after surgery it went away.

Since I saw the doctor I have been on depo provera and my bladder has stopped having the problem.

I'm scheduled to see a urologist on the 16th of this month which I think will be a waste of time since the symtoms stopped.

Plus I'd prefer not to have work done one my bladder at this time since the symtoms are 100% better.

I called my gyn and hope to get my surgery scheduled with out having to see the urologist.

I would appreciate anyone's

Thanks.

My leakage had gone on for years. Sounds to me like your situation is different.

You will be tested by the urologist to see what is causing the leakage as there are different causes and different treatments. At least that what was done to me and stress incontinence was confirmed. Bladder sling was done on Jan 23rd and no more leakage.

The more info you can get the better. The worst that can happen is that you waste some time at the Uro's office. I would rather waste it there than come out of surgery and your problem is back and then there you go back on the dr's appt merry-go-round again. I think your dr is doing a good job of covering all the bases so that they can get everything right in one surgery. It will be okay. You can do it.

Best wishes

teriberibin ~ thanks for replying and letting me know what to expect.

I'm really temped to not go see the urologist.

I'm just not sure because I have had no leakage for about two weeks..since I had the shot. I can't even make myself leak if I try.

mrsdolittle-
I can relate to your situation. Since my fibroids and bleeding got really bad, I started having an incontinence problem. My gyno suggested going to a urologist saying we could do any necessary repairs at the same time as the hysterectomy if bladder repairs were indicated. Well, I did, and the urologist did recommend a TVT, but like you, I feel like once my uterus is out of the way, the incontinence may also disappear since I didn't have this problem before. So I'm opting to NOT havt the TVT procedure with my hysterectomy (it was going to be a scheduling nightmare) and wait and see if leaking is still a problem. The testing done by the urologist was really unpleasant, I must say. As one sister put it: "Check your modesty at the door". It's far more intrusive than a gynecological exam.

Thank you everyone for your replies..

I just got off the phone with my gyn. He agreed with me about not seeing the urologist. I'm greatful for that. Now I get my date for my surgery.

I didn't have a problem with the procedure. I once had an IUD embed in my uterus. Now that hurt like heck when the doctor ripped it out. More painful than anything I've ever experienced in my life including two very long, natural childbirths with back labor.
