Uterus prolapse and back pain

I have uterus prolapse and I am having A LOT of lower back pain and sometimes pain in my butt cheek muscles. I am scheduling my surgery tomorrow with my doc (tentatively set at last appt for Feb 19th). Is all this pain normal?????

Re: Uterus prolapse and back pain

I wish I could answer your question, but I do not have any experience with prolapse.

Ask your doctor about the pain while you are there for your surgery schedule.

Re: Uterus prolapse and back pain

I've got a uterine prolapse, too (surgery next Tuesday). I'm not having a LOT of back pain, but yes, have noticed it hurting more and in weird places, like right above my right butt cheek. It makes sense to me that having your uterine slip out of place could cause extra strain on your back muscles. Hope you feel better soon!

Re: Uterus prolapse and back pain

From all that I have read, yes~ it's normal. I've had terrible lower back pain off and on for a year. My surgery is on Monday for a vagnial prolapse repair and da Vinci hysterectomy.

Re: Uterus prolapse and back pain

I had a TVH DEC19,2012 for uterus prolapse also had repairs on front and back walls of the vagina and a suspension for the pelvic floor. They left the overies. I did not have alot of pain but every time I went to the bathroom I felt a bludge between my legs (I hated it). I was told 10 years ago when it was not so bad to have a hysterectomy but I waited. It was coming out of my body. Right after the surgery I noticed the heavy pressure was gone. I am 6weeks now and doing good and really glad I did the surgery. Not alot of pain, some gas and a light backach from laying in bed at first but that went away fast. You will be fine, I didnt like the bowel prep (get some tucks or baby wipes) the waiting is the worse. Good luck.....
