Abdomen Binder

How soon after surgery can I start to wear an abdomen binder?? Can I wear one immediately after surgery? I hear they really help with moving around.

Hi dwadeb...I would love to know the answer to that as well. I used to own two of them, both from cesarian sections I had with my two older children and I JUST THREW THEM AWAY this winter!!! I thought well, why am I keeping these things? I haven't used them in 18 and 20 years...

Who knew I'd be needing one in ... 4 DAYS!!!

Really...? I hope they do that here as well...I'll have to call my doc's office tomorrow...cause I was going to shop for one tomorrow.

Btw, did it help you so soon after surgery? I really don't remember wearing mine until days afterwards...

Re: Abdomen Binder

I have always had one right after surgery. I think they really helped by just having the support.

Re: Abdomen Binder

My binder was put on while I was still in the operating room, right before I was moved to recovery. I kept it on for the first two weeks straight, and I *loved* it!!

Best wishes!!

Re: Abdomen Binder

I also used my binder immediately after both an oophorectomy and then a LSH. I loved my binder!!!!! I thought about buying one before hand, and was very relieved that they had one in the hospital that my insurance covered.

Best of luck to you in your recovery. I had my surgery a year ago today, and I am SOOOO much better. I wish the same to you, Princesses!
