Anyone Have Dermoid Tumor?

Hi Everyone,

I had a TAH/LSO. This December will be 2 years and I'm doing great now. I had a large Dermoid on my left ovary and I had the same feelings everyone is describing here. My Dermoid had teeth and hair and gunky stuff and was cantalope sized. Get rid of it! They can burst and twist and cause all kinds of problems. Mine pressed on my bladder and I was starting to have incontinence problems. Things are much better now and I'm glad I'm free!

I kept my right ovary, every thing else is history, and my question about these Dermoids is there a chance of my getting another one on the right ovary?

Oh as an added plus I lost 15 pounds post surgery too! Whoo ! Whoo!

Take care.

Anyone Have Dermoid Tumor?

Me Too! I had one on my left ovary about 4.5 cm. and a ruptured one on the right. The right ovary torsed and was necrotic. Sorry - DEAD!
I was very fortunate and thank God for the excruciating pain it caused when the ovary torsed. If it had not hurt so terribly I would not have known and may have died myself. I do not have insurance so I only go to the doctor in emergency. I also had an 8.5 cm fibroid on the uterus so had everthing removed. Thankfully my vagina and other organs are ok and the surgery was basically textbook. I was really freaked but since it was emergency surgery I did not have time to think on it too long. I tell my family they were evil twins. I know - a bit morbid but I need to make some light!

Anyone Have Dermoid Tumor?

I too had a dermoid removed. The first person I told laughed at me and made fun of it. Haven't told anyone since. Some people are so cruel.

Anyone Have Dermoid Tumor?

My 4 year old daughter Abbey was born with a dermoid smack dab in the middle of her forehead. They said it might have been a twin that had died and then absorbed into her. We called her unicorn baby until she had plastic surgery at 4 months. Then again at about 10 months. Now you can't even tell she ever had anything done, except you can feel a small bump still.
It was very scary to go through, but she is fine and you will be too! Take care, Patty

I looked at some pictures of them on the internet. YUCK! I just tell people I had a tumor removed. I figure if I was grossed out by it then other people will be too.
