dVH/RALH Rash 2 weeks post op

Hi Sisters,
I have had a rash and itching around the incisions for about a week. At my 2 week post op visit 4 days ago, the fnp said it was my body rejecting the surgical glue, and I could use Benadryl to help. Of course that makes me sleepy and I figure I can just deal with it, I use ice packs for a few minutes when it gets really bad. But now, I also have a rash on my entire belly. It doesn't itch, but I wonder why I have it.
Anyone else having this? I plan to call tomorrow but thought I'd check here because usually if I have a symptom and come here, someone has already dealt with it!

I get that from steri-strips, a rash and turns into blisters. I am allergic to them. The use normal band aids on me because of that reason.

Hi Becky! I also had the exact same problem. A rash appeared in my bellbutton 2 days post op, then by day 5, it was my whole belly. I think mine was an allergy to the Betadine they swabbed my abdomen with before surgery. I had a similar reaction 8 years ago after a breast augmentation. I don't like taking Benadryl either, so I used ice packs which worked wonderfully! Ice for 20 minutes then off for 45 minutes and repeat as necessary. It went away in a few days. It's too large of an area to be using that much hydrocortisone cream.
