bowel preps a forewarning

Situation :

pre OP-- I got a drink-this-and-clear-your-bowels thingy

Post Op-- stool softner

I went a total of 18 times . My bottom g ot sore and a hemmoroid eventually popped.

I think ladies who need the get it all out prep must be aware that some suppositories or drinkign meds for clearing the bowel make you poo so suddenly that you wont be able to get to the toilet on time .

Im one of those that didnt make it to the toilet on time and i had ( Gross) poo all over my behind because the explosion was that violent LOL .I felt bad about botherign the nurses so managed to get cleaned up and washed .

IM simply embarrassed and hope that ladies who know they are senstiive to such meds stay near the toilet .

thanks for the warning! i've been told I have to have 2 'bowel clearing' drinks on monday the day before my op (i'm staying in hospital that night) so will be sure i stay close to the toilet! Mind you, I am so nervous I don't think I'll need the drinks.

I had terrible tummy cramps but it wasnt the type I usually associate with havign to go . Then there was a lull and it came to suddenly .

I've take the oral enema for my Laps a few times. I found that if you don't have heavy meals (eat light) a few days (2 or 3 days) before you do your bowel prep the results are a bit more "easy" to deal with.

Not sure if this is typical, but it worked for me.
