gel-like healed incision

my incision, which had been leaking after the staples taken out a little early (due to skin infection on part of the incision) has finally healed over. however, the area in question looks like "gel". my daughter thinks there might be some fluid underneath, which my body can absorb.

anyone else had this occurrence?

Don't know what to tell you; however, if it concerns you, call the doc. Hopefully it will just reabsorb.

my cousin, a nurse who lives 4 hrs. from here, happened to phone me today to ask how i was doing. i took the opportunity to ask her what was up with my incision. she said it was new skin cells forming, like a scab, and it would eventually crumble and fall off in the shower, and my body would absorb the fluid.

still would like to know if anyone else has had this. thanks for any replies...it's great to have this website...it is very reassuring to see that others have similar problems.
