Actually, kinda looking forward to it

Recently found out I have lots of fibroids in this ole uterus. Been saying for YEARS I wanted a hyst (bad cramps, llloooonnngggg periods, heavy bleeding). Well, had a period starting early April that went on for over 2 months. Made me anemic -- hemoglobin down to 6! So, doctor says it's time for a hyst. He's also concerned about "something" on my left ovary. That's the only part that really concerns me. Well, that -- and mostly being on disability for 6 weeks. My husband and I have to move out of our apartment by the end of July and he's been out of work for a year and a half. So, I could use two things: lots of info about what to expect and what to do and not to do; and LOTS and LOTS of prayers that we find a place to move and he gets a job. Six weeks of my husband may very well land me in jail! Thank God for Hyster Sisters. You were so supportive 2 years ago when my (then) 23-year old daughter had to have a hyst for cervical cancer. (BTW, she's doing great!) I would appreciate ALL PRAYERS (as well as any info and support anyone can give).

Aw welcome back Barbara - it's wonderful that your daughter is doing so well!

I'm scheduled for July 30th - although I'm pretty terrified at times (you know, the small hours of the morning), I can't wait to be finally done with this pain. I'm 28 and have had painful, heavy, irregular, long nasty periods since I was just 9 - I know a lot of women have suffered for much much longer than I have, and I think I'm pretty darn lucky for being able to have this *done with* so early on.

There are some fabulous lists on the site that can help you figure out what you can, and can't do; and of course I'm sending tons of love and prayers your way, so you can get settled in your new home - as and when it comes

Keep smiling, and hang in there!
