Reassurance

Just wanted to offer some words of reassurance to all the ladies waiting for their op.I had a TAH with both ovaries removed 5 days ago (10th).I was a complete mess beforehand,absolutely dreading it.The only reason I went through with it on the day was that I was in hosp at 7.30 & theatre by 8am so no chance to think! I lay on the table,waiting to go to sleep & I'm ashamed to say that I just wanted to run away!! Came round from the op & to my surprise was absolutely fine.Pain meds were excellent so little discomfort,catheter was out the next day & went for wee ok.Moving about has also been better than anticipated.Have yet to start on the HRT though & I know it's still very early in my recovery.So far so good though.The anticipation & the waiting beforehand is definitely alot worse than afterwards.Its not all horror stories after,so have faith ladies & keep strong.Wishing everyone all the best.xx

Thanks! I do have faith. This can't get any worse for me than it is right now. I have to believe in this - it's truly my last resort. I am not scared, just anxious to get into recovery. I just want 'me' back, my life, myself...
