No 6 week pelvic exam?

Before i list my question i would like to say "thanks" to everyone!!! I have learned so much reading the questions and answers here at HysterSisters!!! I had my six week check up after my tah, bso. My Dr looked at my incision, listened to my heart and pronounced I was fine to go back to work. I didnt think to ask why he didnt do a pelvic exam, shouldnt he have checked? Now I am scared to have sex. I feel fine. But it makes me wonder if this is normal practice?
Thanks in advance!!!!

No 6 week pelvic exam?

Hmmm, I'm not sure. I saw my doctor at almost 5 weeks post-op and he did a pelvic exam to see if my stitches had disolved and generally to see how everything was looking. As far as sex, he told me to refrain for 2 more weeks.
Give your doctor a call and ask him was there any reason for not doing a pelvic exam and express your concerns to him.

I am a 6 weeker

I went to dr friday for my 6 week app. and she did a pelvic exam just to make sure everything was looking ok. She said I was doing nicely and cleared me have sex and to resume my normal activities but to rest when I felt the need. Call your dr cause everyones body heals at different rates and yours may not be ready yet.Good luck and take care.

No 6 week pelvic exam?

Hello
I did not have a pelvic exam at all. I am going in Tuesday for my one year check up and it will be done then. You must be doing very well. and I wouldn't worry about having sex. I waited until week 7 and didn't have a problem. I belive the exam depends on the doctor and your recovery rate.
Best wishes to you!

No 6 week pelvic exam?

I didn't have an internal either. He looked at my incision, asked questions and said I was good to go (3 weeks 2 days) and slowly resume my activities.

No 6 week pelvic exam?

I went for post op exam at a little over 4 weeks, dr did exam to check vaginal cuff and to make sure all was healing, he said I was healed but to refrain from sex 2 more weeks. I felt better with him doing an exam because then I knew all was well.
